Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Ruth Prowse School of Art NPC ("RPSA", "we") respects your privacy and processes personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect and why

  • Enquiries: your name, email, optional phone number and message, so that we can reply to you.
  • Applications: the details on the application form (including ID or passport number, date of birth, nationality, address, qualifications and any portfolio you upload), so that we can assess your application and contact you about admission.
  • Short-course bookings: your name, email address and mobile number, used for class registers and to contact you about the course you enrolled for.
  • Newsletter: your email address and the date you consented, so that we can send campus news and events. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Payments

Short-course payments are processed by PayFast on their secure payment page. We never see or store your card or banking details. PayFast confirms to us whether a payment was successful.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website uses only essential cookies: a session cookie and a security token that protect our forms. We remember whether you have dismissed the newsletter pop-up in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Pages that show a map embed Google Maps, and Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.

Spam protection

Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is submitting them. It processes limited technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics for this purpose only, and does not use advertising cookies.

Sharing

We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website, email and payments (such as our hosting provider and PayFast), or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to its processing. To do so, contact us at admin@ruthprowse.co.za or +27 21 447 2492. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
